Techk And Jiang Shi: A Meeting Of Monsters

Techk would go back to his favorite bookstore seeing the same fat hipster jerk working there for like the 3rd day in a row. He would look around for a good book to buy today.

Techk would then notice an asian woman in normal clothing walk in with someone who is wearing a trench coat and fedora hat obviously hiding his face to everyone with his scarf. The asian woman would come to the bookseller and say "excuse me do you have the book Shen Huan Rong: Keeper Of The Temple Of Ancestry." The man at the counter says "I dont know. That is a very old book and increadibly rare. If one was here I would assume that someone would pick it up quick as that book is very expensive." The guy seems to look like your typical hipster. Overwieght with long blond hair wearing a green shirt and jeans and acting like a typical hipster. Techk would notice that book was near the one he took at the time he didn't take much notice but now that it was brought up he does remember seeing it a book or 2 near his book. Techk would remember it as a large almost dictionary like book with a red cover ordained in gold trim. There is a man standing in a one legged standing position in the book on what looked like a bamboo stick that was propped virtically.

The man in the trench coat would say angrily  "What do you mean it's not here. You don't understand I need it." upon realizing what he just did he composed himself and said "Excuse me. It is just I am in need of that book for something very important I am doing. Are you sure you cant take a look." The asian woman would put her hand on his back and say quietly to him. "Calm yourself. If it is not here then we could always try the internet." The man would mumble "This internet you speak of. I do not understand it. It is like sorcery to me." The man at the counter would say "You don't know the internet where did you come from the stone age. Hahahahah "snort"." seeing the mans eyes getting more angry he would then say "Ok ill look in the back. I hope you have the money to pay for such an antique." The asian woman would say "We do." the man would shrug and go into the back which Techk would notice was not where the book was. The man in the trench coat would mumble to the asian woman "This is a true test to my patience. I am not from the stone age. I am from the ging dynasty. It was only a few centuries ago." The asian woman elbows the trench coat man as if to stop him from speaking.

The man would come back and say "Sorry dude I don't got it. Maybe you should try an antique store. It might hold some old relics like that. This is a book store. We deal in books not antiques." The man in the trench coat would put his head down and say "I understand." The Asian woman saying "Come lets go and see if it is on the internet." The couple would start to leave as Techk would see the book literally a foot beside him.

Techk quickly grabbed the book and stuffed it inside his body, mindful he wasn't on camera without appearing to check. Heading out the door he handed the clerk a list. "If you have these give me a call tomorrow, I just realized I'm late to teach a class Keith, let Bill know I'll pay the usual price for them." He said before walking out of the door. He began following the woman and the cloaked man and a short distance behind them, scanning them casually to see if they had anything he should be worried about should he startle them. Realizing the man had no pulse he was rather confused.

He called out to them waving his arm to gain their attention when they turned to him. "Hey, mister, did I hear that right, you said something about the Ging Dynasty? I hope you don't mind my asking, but just how old are you? I can tell from here you don't have a pulse. I ask because I think I can help you find that book, but I'm really curious to find out who and, I hope you don't take offense to this, what you are. If you're as old as you say there's something special about you, and I love to learn about whatever I can. Hell I have quite a collection of books where I live and for all I know I may even have it."

Keith says "Ok man. Ill tell him." as Techk ran off after the Asian woman and the man in the trench coat.

after calling out to them and saying his statement Everyone on the street would turn their heads that way. Techk would notice the 2 turn their heads his way in anger. the eyes of the man now glowing white as he (in a motion that was so fast only you picked it up) was grabbed and dragged while his mouth area was blocked into an ally where as the Asian woman followed. The man would shove Techk into a brick wall and say with his hand on his shoulder eyes pure glowing white "Are you trying to expose us to the public. How do you know about me! And what do you know about that book!" The Asian woman would walk in saying "So you know of Hans gift? And it seems you heard him from a fair distance. Who are you? And what is it you can help us with?" The man named Han notices his hand sinking into the form of Techk, Techk noticing that the man looks as if he is barely applying pressure but it feels like an ox has pinned him into the wall. Han would say "What are you a sorcerer? One of Wei Zhan Ming experiments? How are you able to mold your body this way?" Techk would notice the blue in his face as if he was a corpse.

Techk could be heard saying Hey! What in the hell?!" even with the hand over his mouth clearly as if it weren't covered as he was dragged into the alley.

Techk listened to the rapid fire questions with a look of sheer confusion on his face. "What the HELL are you people talking about?? Gift? Sorcerer? Who in the nine hells is Wei Ming Zhan or whatever the hell you just said." he said bewildered and mildly annoyed at being manhandled. "And I believe I asked you first. You tell me what's up with you lacking a pulse and looking like death chilled over, then I'll explain why I'm like this and about how I can help you guys find that book you were after in the store."

He raised his arm and tapped the hand on his shoulder. "Mind letting go too? I approached you guys, like hell I'm running away. If anything I'm a little miffed that you decided to go the aggressive route to get me into here, could have just said 'Not here, follow me.' or something. Geez if I knew it was a sore spot I wouldn't have asked."

The asian woman would say "Well it is obvious he has no idea what we are talking about. Han show him what you are so that we may converse with this man properly." Han would regretfully let Techk go and pull down the top of the trench coat and reveal the well preserved dead flesh. Techk realizing he was dead instantly upon looking at his flesh. The Asian woman would say "My name is Li An Jing and this is Han my partner. You may call him by his other name Jiang Shi. He is of the zombie Jiang Shi sort so don't worry he is harmless to you unless I say so. Well at least mostly harmless." Jiang Shi would say "With that settled what do you know about the book." The Asian woman then speaks up again saying "Yes we need to get it. You see it is a book written by his former master Shen Huan Rong and it is the only thing from his time that is left. He died in the early 1700s and was revived recently by me." The Jiang Shi then says "I apologize for my rudeness. I am not welcomed in this city or anywhere for that matter. People see me as a monster who steals peoples chi. Any information you have on the book would be appreciated."

Techk listened quietly as they explained things before responding. "Ahh, you're dead like I am, sort of. It's a long story, but I was a scientist that had an accident and now I'm made out of a few million nanobots."

He then looked around cautiously and sighed. "Well, I was hoping I could get away without having to reveal what I am really, but since it's that important to you I won't jerk you around until I can get the book out." He said cryptically before literally shoving his hand into his chest and rooting around for the book. He knew exactly where it was, but decided to give them a show anyway.

"Damn it, where did it... Ah! There it is!" He exclaimed as he pulled the book in question out of his chest, there never appearing to have been a hole that it came out of or where his hand went into in the first place. He handed the book to Han. "This is what you were looking for, right? And hey, don't worry about being called a monster, I don't like being called that either so you won't hear it from me. Hell the students I teach get an earful if they so much as make fun of another of my students for being mutated physically. Johnny was never exactly happy about getting mocked for his eyes being that of an insect's, but thanks to my efforts he feels safe from ridicule in my classroom."

Jiang Shi would take the book and say "Thank you for your kindness." while Li Ann would say "Indeed. Thank you very much but how on earth did u get it. The book store owner said it was not in the store." The 2 would look at you puzzled and looking for an answer.

Techk appeared to be holding back a fairly bemused look and was failing miserably at it. "Hang on a second." He said as he held his hand in front of his face, bringing it from the top to the bottom and as he did so his face disappeared. "There we go, I hate trying to say things while keeping a straight face when they're so highly amusing. Long story short Keith is an idiot I barely trust with being a courier of lists of books I want between him and the actual owner, Bill. The book was literally on the shelf in front of me, and he was in the back not paying attention to the store and there's no security cameras at all in there. I figured I'd be nice and save you guys a few grand for a bit of history. History is priceless after all, especially since you're a part of it whether in life or death. So I took it and I'm going to wire the funds for it to Bill later tonight letting him know that I nabbed it while Keith was off on one of his breaks to go hang out at Starbucks and pretend to be interesting and cool to people who really really don't care instead of doing his job. Keith will probably get in trouble for it but it's his own fault for not actually knowing where to look for the inventory ledger of the store itself like the clod he is." Techk shrugged, his exasperation with Keith evident in his body language. "Honestly He could have found the book for you in all of 10 seconds if he could remember how to do his job instead of remember how to say "you've probably never heard of it" like the hipster loser he is."
