Techk and Dr. Avalon's Activities

One morning Dr. Avalon would receive an email on his private terminal. When he opened it, the email would read as follows:

Good morning Dr Avalon!

I'd like to introduce myself, my name is Daniel Karthan, or better known as Techk of the Xamples and professor of robotics at Xavier's Academy for Gifted Children. I assure you this is not a threatening email or anything of that sort. The media coverage of you is still as hateful as usual, but the MIB records of you show that you are quite the robotics expert! (Don't tell them I accessed their records, I'm quite sure they're still not aware of my accessing their data banks in my spare time.) My specialty is in nanorobotics personally, and I was wondering if you would like to meet up to swap ideas and perhaps show off some of our creations. While I don't necessarily agree with your methods to create what you believe to be a better world, I do realize that you have good intentions and have no animosity toward you.

If you're concerned with giving me your address etc, do not be alarmed, I hold confidentiality to be very important, and will not share any information with authorities or any "heroes" I work with. Also seeing as I currently work with heroes, I'd like to make clear that any confrontation I may have with you in the future with them will be purely professional and I will not take offense to any cheap tricks or dirty pool, as I find holding grudges to be detrimental to building a good friendship. My grudge against the Mandarin aside of course, but I have my reasons for that. Fuck that guy.

Please be sure to contact me to let me know if you'd like to meet up and where you'd like to do so! I know people who are evading capture from governmental authorities can be rather cagey about going to a place a purported "hero" suggests, being concerned as to whether it's a trap.

Dr Avalon would smile at the email. Whoever this was they were definitely good, not many people would ever know how to contact him with his many countermeasures, but he did have an open email unrelated to him.

The doctor would send a reply promptly;

Hello there Techk

It's honestly nice to hear from a fellow scientist who understands my viewpoints, even if you don't agree
with them. And nano-robotics is quite the field, I'd love to share some info. Now as mentioned I have
a lot of people after me, the fact that you've fully decrypted this email to read it should be enough
proof, sorry for that by the way can never be to careful.

I will send someone to meet you, a very close and personally college of mine. She's a little protective, but
I'm sure she'll warm up to you right quick. How about the park at the south end of the city around 7pm? One
of my hideouts isn't far from there, but Regina will meet you and show you the way. Believe me you'll know
when you see her, just show off some tech

PS. No need to tell the MIB about the databanks, their security is pathetic. Now SHIELD is fun to tamper with. Did you know
that recently a fully functioning SHIELD AI had been captured by an experimental one. I'd love to meet this robot, but
one thing at a time.

Techk read the email after the quick decryption, raising an eyebrow at the S.H.I.E.L.D. reference, he would have to arrange a meeting with that robot post-haste to see what all that was about. Heading to the garage, Techk, tossed a light bending device onto the seat of Logan's motorcycle and activated it so that it would make the bike appear to no longer be in that position. He then caused his nanobots in his body to take the form of said motorcycle between his legs, making the density of both his body and it be at about 50% of what it should be, but together enough to drive effectively. "Right, this should piss him off until he figures it out, heheh." Techk would mutter to himself as he drove down the driveway in full view of the cameras, waving to them as he went by.

Arriving at the park at 6:59, Techk looks around to see if there are any women around. Seeing a couple he decides now would be as good of a time as any. Leaning back against the fountain in the middle of the park, he caused two tendrils of nanobots to extend from beneath the sleeves of his sweater and formed a sign with a flashing light that read "Regina".

Worried it was a little too obvious, he then trilled in binary "Sorry if this is a bit overt, he did say to show off some tech."

As some people kind of looked and either quickly walked away or didn't believe what they just saw. One woman headed over to Techk. She had a huge grin as she approached, but it was one that looked like she was too excited to contain.

She walked till she was about 2 arms length from Techk and suddenly jump at him to glomp him. **

**(If she passed through) She would quickly catch herself on the edge of the fountain and stand back up. Standing close to Techk she would say... ***

**(If she glomps him) She would talk as she landed the glomp...***

***"I can't believe this! Did you make that right now? Can you tell me how? Was that the nano tech?" her words were going a mile a minute, until she regained her composure, "Sorry...I'm Regina. Known more popularly as the Iron Queen. Not a title I personally like, but it's stuck. Master Martial artist and mechanics enthusiast, and your tech is just marvellous! I'm here to take you to Dr. Avalon."

She would wink at him, "But we can take our time right? I'd like to learn a bit about you myself."

Techk was mildly startled by the glomp but quickly caught her, the nanobots he used to make the sign dispersing and rejoining his body. He was taken aback at her friendliness and the wink she gave him caused him to smile and blush slightly. "Hey, nice to meet you too Regina! Yeah, that was me, I ran a small patterning program, nothing too flashy. Well, aside from your name in lights, haha. Those were nanobots yeah, I'd like to go on but it's a bit of a long story, maybe we could get into that somewhere other than the park. I'll call you Regina if that's alright, I at least got to pick my name. "Techk." I think it has a good ring to it, considering what all I can do. If you like though you can call me Daniel. I'm a nanorobotics specialist and avid reader. I've dabbled in cooking and the like as well in my off time, I'm starting to think I have too many hobbies though since I haven't slept in years."

He gave her a happy grin. "Sure, sounds like fun, I can't say no to a beautiful young woman with a love of technology such as yourself. I'm sure Dr. Avalon won't be upset that you've kept me to yourself for a short while. Maybe you'd like to grab a coffee?"

Regina would smile, almost giddy. The doctor had only mildly dabbled in nanbots, so this was something brand new. She would nod to the coffee, "Sure. A little cliche though." She would stick her tongue out jokingly.

"I believe there is a quaint little cafe on the way." she would smile grabbing his hand and walking fast enough that it was almost a jog.

"I should tell you, just so you don't have to find out awkwardly from the doctor. I'm a rare type of sorcerer known as a Technomancer. Just thought it better that you know that considering you're carrying all those nanobots around."

Techk chuckled, "Yeah, I know, but it's the first thing that came to mind."

Techk quickly followed her and smiled excited at the prospect of spending some time getting to know this interesting woman over coffee, but became a little nervous when she mentioned her powers. "Uhh, Regina? Since you were upfront with me about what you can do, maybe I should clear the air. I'm not carrying any nanobots. I.. sort of had an accident, or rather, my research lab was attacked by the Mandarin and I was injured, and the prototype nanobots I was working on sort of.. well.. they were medical bots, and I was in the middle of fixing a programming error so they would work properly to heal people.. and I got blown into the containment unit with some severe injuries. Uhmm.. I hope you get where I'm going with this. Please don't use any of your powers on me?"

He smiled at her nervously, hoping she wouldn't freak out or think differently of him.

Regina would stop suddenly and smile, "That would be an amazing experiment. Your very being is the nanobots? Wonder what would happen if they were influence by my magic."

She would look sinisterly at Techk then laugh, "Oh comon, it was a little joke. Why even risk the damage that could cause to someone so exquisite as yourself. Plus I'd much rather use my technomagic to improve my machines. In your case I bet it could only cause problems."

She would start to walk again a little slower now trying to think, the Mandarin, she had heard that name before, "I think I've heard of this Mandarin from back in China. You see I came over here a little while ago because my art and my family were gone. I had nothing back home so why not try again. The Mandarin...is he that terrorist?" She would mutter this loud enough for Techk to hear, but was talking pretty much to herself.

Techk began following Regina again, and was relieved that she wouldn't use her powers on him. Hearing her talking about the Mandarin was starting to get him upset though, as he felt his emotions rising and his body starting to react slightly. He placed his hand on her shoulder gently. "Hey, can we not talk about him? It's still a bit of a sore spot for me, and it gets hard to stay in control of myself if things stay on the topic for a while. I don't want you to think I'm some kind of time bomb waiting to go off, but I can't deny that I genuinely want him to pay for what he did to me with his life. I'd like to have a good time getting to know each other, if possible, and if we could I'd like to just sort of avoid talking about him. Thanks for the compliment though, it's nice to meet someone who doesn't think I'm either some kind of undead cyborg or some ravenous metal eating monster."

He had to laugh at himself at the mention of monster, remembering that episode he had when he met his team. "Monster, I remember when just saying that would set me off and I'd start trying to rip myself apart while screaming that in binary. Scared the hell out of my team members."

Realizing how strange it must sound for him to laugh at self mutilation he smiled awkwardly at Regina. "Sorry, that probably sounded weird. I've come a long way since the incident, and not all of the stories are good ones."

She would shrug, "Okay, it doesn't bug me, I can't remember anything about the guy anyways."

When she heard someone had called him a monster she would frown, "How can someone call such magnificence monstrous? The thought is enough to make me sick to the stomach...wait! Did you say you eat metal?"

She would ponder for a moment as they arrived at the doors to the cafe, holding it open she would say, "Well I suppose that works, but what are you going to do with organic food like the stuff here?"

Techk shrugged. "Well truth be known I can't digest organic stuff, but I've been working on a spectral analysis program so I can be able to taste stuff. It's not perfected yet, but I figure what better way to test it than with someone both cute and intelligent over coffee?" He walked through the door as she held it open for him. He gave her a smile and she could tell he was blushing slightly again. "Thank you, for the door and the compliment. You really know how to flatter a guy you know?"

Techk looked over the menu behind the counter, deciding on a simple coffee to test his program, but wanting something more. "So you've been here before right? What would you suggest from the more foodish side of things? I'm thinking something along the lines of a slice of cake."

He opened his hand and produced a bank card out of his nanobots. "Since the advent of the chipped cards it's been a lot easier for me to make public purchases. You order whatever you like, I'm buying today." He chuckled then smirked at her with his empty hand on his hip. "After all, it was my idea to go here, I may as well be the one to cover the check right? It's only gentlemanly, if almost as cliche as the coffee idea." He said then stuck his tongue out at her jokingly.

Regina would smile back, "I personally prefer my coffee black, but cake sounds devine. Haven't had any sweets in a while."

She would stare particularly at a small looking strawberry cake in the display casing, eventually asking Techk to get her that one. Afterwords she would go sit at the booth near the back of the cafe with Techk.

"You know I'm glad your willing to help us out and all and I was curious..." she would talk between sips of her coffee, "You're made entirely of nano bots, the only other person I know who has become a machine themselves was the doctor. Although his circumstances seem a lot different."

She would put her coffee down and take a bite of cake, her face would instantly light up. "WOW! This is fantastic!" she would almost jump out of her seat holding her hands together and closed her eyes joyfully. ((sorry couldn't find a good pic to show ))

When she realized what she'd done she instantly sat back down and regained her composure, blushing from her actions, but trying not to show it.

It was obvious the who cafe had heard, but they didn't seem to dwell on it long.

Techk happily got her the cake she wanted and ordered a slice for himself. "Don't tell me, you love strawberries too? I've been a sucker for a good strawberry dish since I was a kid."

Techk just smiled at her warmly noting her reaction to the cake, including her blush. "Hehe, are you always this excitable? Regardless I think it's quite the cute response. Maybe I should try cooking for you sometime and see if I can't make you jump completely out of your seat." He stuck his tongue out jokingly at her before bringing his coffee up for a sip.

His brow furrowed as he let the warm liquid flow into his mouth, the program analyzing and producing a result quickly. He raised his eyebrow and looked at his coffee confused somewhat before setting it down. He looked at Regina and his expression went from confused to slightly upset to barely contained laughter.

"...Bananas. It tastes like bananas! Hahahahaha! Oh god, it's sooo far off it's ridiculous!" He then broke out in loud laughter that had the cafe patron's attention for a few moments before they went on to their business.

After a few seconds he finally stopped and gave a contented sigh. "Oh that was good, I haven't had a laugh like that in a good while. So tell me, before I start asking you about yourself, and I can't see myself not doing so with someone as fun as you've been thus far, is there anything else curious about?"

Regina would blush as Techk brought up her reaction about the food.

She would smile at Techk, having laughed along at the sheer ability to have coffee taste like bananas, she couldn't fathom.

She would smile when Techk asked about anything else she was curious about. He face became absolutely flushed as she twiddled her fingers and looked away nervously.

"Well...I was wondering...this was really fun...and I mean..."

As Regina was finishing her sentence a hologram poped up on the table. A very small silhouette of Dr. Avalon stood before both of them.

"Regina what's taking so long?" his voice wasn't loud, but there was a sense of annoyance.

His hologram would turn around to see Techk, "Oh you already found him, then where are you?"

Regina would blush and bow her head, "Sorry sir, we'll be there shortly."

Avalon would simply wave his hand, "No need to be so formal about it, plus knowing how much you like your tech you probably told him alot already."

He would turn to Techk, "Well I do want to meet you in person, but because of your nano tech I don't believe I can use my teleporter on you, so unfortunately you'll have to walk here. Regina will take you down my personal shortcut."

Techk nodded to the hologram. "Of course, there's no trouble in having to take a short walk. Sorry for the delay Dr. Avalon, I must admit that I quite enjoyed meeting Regina and offered a quick improptu coffee while we were on our way to you in order to get to know her better. I imagine once I get there she'll have stuff to do or we'll get too busy to really talk much with her."

He gestured his untouched cake. "Would you mind terribly if we're a few minutes longer? I'd very much like to try this cake, Regina's reaction to eating hers has made me really want to have some of it before we head out. I don't mean to inconvenience you any further of course, if you're on a tight schedule I could just eat it on the go, however I worry the experience would be diminished somewhat."

He casually pushed his coffee to the side. "The coffee I think I'll pass on. It doesn't taste quite right to me." He said looking at Regina with a knowing smirk.

Regina would simply smirk back at Techk.

Dr. Avalon would look at Techk confused, "Not sure why you'd like to spend valuable time eating, but it's your own prerogative I suppose. Take your time, it's not like I'm going anywhere, too much prep work to do."

The hologram would disappear and Regina would look at Techk, "He's really work oriented. I really like his new plans, but I'm not sure everyone will. Change is never accepted bay all."

She would smile as she looked in deep thought, "I mean all he's got is me and his brother."

Techk smiled at her and put his hand on hers, patting it gently. "He'll also have a friend in me soon enough no doubt, even though I'll be unable to help him achieve his goals in a lot of ways. Hopefully though I'll be able to take a bit of the load off his brother's and your shoulders."

He took his hand away and picked up his fork to try his cakes. "Well, here goes nothing.." He said as he cut a small bit off with the side of his fork. He looked at the cake a little apprehensively as he picked it up with his fork, then back to Regina. "So, what were you going to ask before Dr. Avalon cut you off?" He asked before putting the piece of cake into his mouth and chewing. Again his brow furrowed as the scanning occurred and the program read the information given.

He raised his eyebrows and his eyes went wide, almost comically so as his nanobots reacted to his imagination momentarily. He quickly swallowed before shouting. "It worked! I taste strawberries!! It's not perfect because I can't taste anything else in it right now aside from a very mild toothpaste aftertaste, BUT I CAN TASTE STRAWBERRIES!" By this point the whole cafe was staring at him as he giggled happily to himself and continued to eat the cake with a big smile, but he didn't care about their looks of confusion.

Regina would smile and blush again as she tried to continue, "Well, I was going to ask if after this...maybe you'd like to get together again...on less business terms..."

Regina would smile as Techk ate his strawberry cake, "Did you say toothpaste aftertaste?" she would laugh a little, "Man that's some software your working on. Although I'm wondering with all this commotion wether we should consider going. I'm not as recognizable as the Dr, but I do have.." she would hold up her fingers to show a tiny space between them, "...a bit of a reputation...and not the best one."

She would look over as the cashier would quickly look away and walk to the back room. "And I have a feeling it's preceded me by this point."

Techk stopped as if frozen in time, blinked in recognition of what she asked, and then gave her a wide smile. "I'd like that, I really would."

Techk frowned at her worry of being recognized. "I get what you mean, when I'm in my "super hero" appearance, I tend to get labelled as someone to avoid, and I have a bit of a reputation at the Academy I teach at as a pretty shady prankster. I remember swapping the lock to the rooms that only Professor X could open with the ones to the student rest rooms. It was hilarious right up until the student body tried to lynch me. Hehe." He got up and led Regina out of the cafe, putting his hand discreetly into the garbage bin to dump the food he had eaten into it on the way by. He led her quickly around and behind the cafe, making sure nobody was around.

"I'm going to assume we need to make a quick get away. As much as I hate doing this because I think it's a bit degrading to me, I'm going to have to ask you to ride me." Looking at her blushing mildly, he adds, "I'm sorry that probably sounded really bad. Trust me it's not how it sounds."

He held both of her hands and appeared to lean in like he was going to kiss her, but then his head enveloped hers. For a scant few seconds Regina couldn't see anything. She felt his hands change into bars and she felt pulled down until she was sitting on something between her legs. Her vision cleared and she would realize she was wearing a motorcycle helmet, and she found herself seated upon one. Techk's voice spoke to her through the helmet, sounding as if through speakers. His voice tinged with embarrassment at having her sitting on top of him. "Sorry you didn't get to see the transformation, but time seems to be of the essence."

Techk revved himself to accentuate the point as he started moving forward. "I'll need you to steer since I don't know the way. Also I hope this isn't too weird, the guy you just asked out turning into a motorcycle then having you ride him and all."

Regina would blush at the prospect then turn it around on Techk as they drove, "Well I don't usually go this far on a first date, but in this case it's an exception."

She would laugh as she gripped the handlebars and drove them down the street, Techk would notice her grip was quite powerful. After about a block a police car would appear behind them, "Well damn, I guess I'll handle this." Regina would hold out a hand behind her and clench it. A little static would spark around her hand as the police car behind her stalled and powered down. "Such basic tech...it's to simple, very vulnerable."

((I would like to give Techk a chance here too so)) Another cop car would appear from a side street sirens blaring. Regina would curse under her breath, "Sorry, but it's hard enough to navigate and drive, can you handle this one. Try not to hurt them okay?"

((After Techk deals with the police, if he does))

Regina would drive them into another back alley leading to a dead end. She would say to Techk, "That was fun right? You know how to treat a girl. Now lets see, where is that entrance?"

Techk's paint job turned visibly a shade pinker before they drove off after her saying that.

When asked to deal with the police, Techk revved his engine loudly, and fired an actuator under both wheels so the motorcycle lifted into the air and slammed into the front of the cruiser as it came up quickly behind him. His form for the most part melted except for where Regina held on, and his body that had melted formed into power tool tipped tentacles with a menacing insectoid face peering into the windshield at the officers.

Clacking his mandibles together he stared at the driver. In a different voice than his usual one, sounding more like buzzing and vibrational in his speech he said, "You are interrupting our date. I would appreciate you going away." He then let out a mechanical screech at them as the tools dug into the car tearing it apart around them. As he hurled the parts of the engine away quickly one by one the cruiser would come to a slow stop. Slamming his face into the windshield and cracking it, he hissed at them. "Do not attempt to follow on foot. We do not wish to harm you and wish to be left alone." When the vehicle came to a full stop he put all of his tentacles onto the car and violently shoved himself and Regina forward fully becoming a motorcycle again.

"There we go, that should keep them off of us for a while. Nothing quite like living up to the title of monster when it comes to getting people to leave you alone." He said through the helmet as they drove off.

Arriving at the dead end he quickly changed back into his human form, and smiled scratching the back of his neck. "Yeah it was pretty fun, but I don't usually make a habit of attacking folks in public. I'm more the defensive fighter, so to speak. Glad to know you enjoyed the ride though!" He said with a smirk and a wink at the end. Looking around the wall he noticed a brick was out of place. "Is this what you're looking for?" He asked while pressing it in.

Regina would smile at Techk, "Yes that's the one."

As Techk pressed it the brick snapped into the wall and the ground lowered below them. Another copy of the ground appeared above them closing to look like nothing had changed.

As they descended lights would line the elevator, they had to have gone underground at least 20 stories before the elevator came to a stop.

A large door would open in front of them and a pawn bot would raise a gun at the two. Regina would smile, "Heya it's just me."

The bot would continue to hold a gun at Techk, "Unauthorized entrance...identity unknown."

Regina would turn to Techk, "Guess Avalon was too busy with his tinkering to tell the bots you were coming." She would wave her hand at the robot, "Let us through now please."

The robot would immediately put its gun away as it backed around the corner, "Yes queen."

She would wave for Techk to come along, and as they walked she would say, "You know that robot was a full VI (virtual intelligence) very high end, the doctor makes alot of them. Quite hard to hack, that's why I use magic. Truthfully I'm so curious to see what effect it would have on an AI, my magic I mean."

As she said this she would give Techk the most serious look.

Techk looked at her with a lot of nervousness. "I'm not sure whether or not I would constitute an AI, but quite honestly I don't want to find out what you could do to me. It might permanently damage my memories or mind, or turn me into someone I'm not." He looked down and half smiled, still looking rather nervous at the thought of what she could potentially do to him. "I mean, I had a lot of fun spending time with you before we got here, the police chase aside. I don't want to risk forgetting it or becoming someone you dislike."

He then looked into her eyes. "Your abilities, I can't deny it, both amaze me for what you can do, and terrify me for what you could do to me. But I like you for you, not your power. I have to say though, that move back there? Very Jedi mind-trick of you, hehe." He said and then smiled at her, hoping she saw the humour in the Star Wars reference.

Looking back at the robot guards, he remembered telling her he ate metal. "Oh, and if you're concerned about me trying to eat any of the robots or anything you can rest assured that I don't require any metals for nanobot restoration right now. That only happens when the bots break down too much from wear and tear, or I suffer lasting damage to my body."

He turned back to Regina as they walked. "It's a very nice place here, I love the design style." Realizing it was apparent that he wasn't making a point of looking around like a normal person would, he decided to explain. "I know it doesn't look like I took a good look around or anything, but seeing as what I am it should be believe-able that I sort of have eyes... everywhere on my body."

((I'm assuming she's wearing the dress she was depicted as wearing in the character profile here, so if i'm wrong let me know so i can edit it XD))

He blushed and looked away. "...Kind of why I only gave you a helmet instead of a full rider suit, as well as turned the optic sensors on the seat away from you. I didn't want to make things awkward. I do try to be a gentleman at all times when I'm out with someone. Especially someone I like."

She smiled at Techk's response to her, and he answered one of her first questions about eating the pawn bots before she could ask, so she just nodded in approval, and laughed at the star wars joke. "I guess I'm a jedi with machines, but not with people."

However the last part about the cycle made her blush and turn away, "I guess its as much my fault for not figuring that out...but still, kinda creepy..."

She would stick her tongue out at him, "I didn't realize I had flirted with the ultimate perv machine."

She would laugh as they walked, a large, what seemed to be glass) dome opened above them, they were now under the harbor and the walkway went along the bottom to a ridge. You could see everything through them, however...

"I know what your thinking, the doctor has a glass walkway? Isn't that a little dangerous considering his reputation, well...", Regina would touch the glass and pass through it, she would pull her hand back through as it was wet, "It's actually a solidified holographic field generated by the doctors own energy outputs. It can change to anything from thin air to a pure energy field more solid than a sheet carbon nano-fibres."

She would smile, "By the way I never asked, your okay with water right? I saw you drink the coffee before so I just assumed..."

Techk laughed at her comment about the ultimate perv machine. "They do come in handy, it keeps me from being sneaked up on without extenuating circumstances. I suppose one could make that argument yeah, but I prefer "Blackmail Material Gatherer Extraordinaire" when I'm at home screwing with the students and keeping them in line. For the most part my job with the Xamples team is infiltration and sabotage." Realizing what he said he quickly waved his arms dismissively. "Oh! But don't worry, the Academy doesn't even know I'm here. My M.O. is to slip in like a slime through the ducts and take control of all of the electronic stuff on the systems and then cause havoc, and clearly i'm not doing that." He stuck his tongue out playfully at her after saying that. "I'm genuinely interested in meeting Dr. Avalon and discussing robotics stuff. It's hard to find someone who is as acclaimed as him or myself in their fields. Reputations notwithstanding."

He chuckled and gave her a nudge. "Besides, I really wouldn't want to get on your bad side. You'd probably really mess me up. Plus you're such an interesting person and I still want to get to know you better. You really have captivated my interest and attention. ..And while your powers might scare the hell out of me, I'm probably going to ask you out to dinner sometime if you still want to date 'The Ultimate Perv Machine', Hahaha!"

Techk was very impressed with the hard-light hologram. "Very interesting. I've only been able to get soft-light display thus far but if I could get hard light to work properly from my own systems I could be much more effective in combat.
